02/10/2017 • Steffen KruseThe Supernaut series (consisting of jacket and trousers) should meet the highest alpine demands, be extremely robust, well thought-out and durable. I have been able to test whether this is actually the case over the last thirty or so days of use. -

Gear reviews | Bergans Osatind pants
03/11/2016 • Lukas Zögernitz
The Norwegian company, whose roots go back to the development of a backpack with an external frame in 1908, offers the Osatind trousers from the Slingsby collection, outdoor trousers specially developed for ski tourers. According to Bergans, the trousers are characterized by "outstanding functionality, low weight and high durability". We have tested for you whether this is the case in practice and whether these properties can convince a "classic freerider" of stretch touring pants. -

Gear reviews | Penguin 3L Trizar Jacket & Pants
02/26/2016 • German Wehinger
Penguin is a Swiss brand that produces functional winter clothing in a simple design for all weather conditions. As they are freeriders themselves, their own experience on the mountain flows directly into the products. For me, the hardshell combo proved to be a reliable companion with small deductions. As I have been doing more than 30 off-piste and touring days per season for many years, the wear and tear on the material is correspondingly high. I'm 1.81 m and 84 kg and a firm believer in the onion principle. I tested the 3-layer Trizar Shell jacket & dungarees from Penguin for you. -

With the Yeti Hunter Series, the company from Val d'Isere with British roots delivers a technical outerwear combo with the usual casual cut and city style for the first time. We tested how the combo performs away from the park and pub in New Zealand in summer 2015. -

Gear reviews | Mammut Alyeska GTX Pro 3L Realization Pants
03/20/2015 • Daniel SchweissThe most technical piece of freeride clothing from the fossilized and tusked shaggy animal comes with Mammut strength. Mammut's extensive experience in the development of technical mountain sports clothing reaches its peak with these pants. Probably the most interesting innovation is the fully integrated climbing harness, which you can't tell from the pants, but which nevertheless enables rapid abseiling without compromising on comfort and style. In addition, the pants feature a number of other useful details.
