European Outdoor Film Tour (EOFT) (Munich)

The best outdoor sports and adventure films of the year!

Date

Location

Alte Kongresshalle
Am Bavariapark 14
80339 MĂĽnchen
With the six new EOFT 2024 films, you can experience the world from its most adventurous side - and often you need less than you think: a pair of freeride skis, a longboard, a mountain bike or six used Euro pallets - for a wild raft trip in Sweden, for example...

...whether the raft will survive the journey, why a tiny bell on your backpack makes a huge difference when climbing a big wall, and which rope team you can always rely on 100 percent - you can find out all this in the new EOFT program starting in autumn!

The EOFT 2024 is travelling to Belgium, Germany, France, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia and Spain. Find a show in your city

Film program

CYCLE OF BAYANIHAN - from BMX to freeride and beyond (15 min)

For MTB pro athlete Samantha Soriano, the Philippines are much more than just the next bike destination: the US native has never been to the country where her roots lie. With her bike and many unanswered questions in her luggage, Samantha sets off for her father's homeland and finds not one, but two families there - her own relatives and a growing bike community.

TO THE SEA - a raft trip through the wilderness (36min)

"There's no end to the rain on this trip" - but neither do the two Londoners Ben and Hugo. In 2013, the two decided to travel to Sorsele in Sweden to build their raft "Melissa" from Euro pallets and canisters. Their wild construction takes them down the even wilder Vindelälven, through rapids, thunderstorms and narrow passages towards the sea.

What was planned as a two-week trip turned into a six-year expedition in stages. Year after year, Ben and Hugo travelled back with their ukuleles "Red" and "Blue", despite all the shipwrecks, cold fronts and mosquitoes.

SOUNDSCAPES - Blind trust in big wall climbing (14min)

NOMEN EST OMEN: An imposing wall in the Sierra Nevada, 365 metres of vertical rock, the name fits: The Incredible Hulk. Climber Erik Weihenmayer can't see it, but he can hear it and feel it as far as his hands can reach. Together with climbing partner Timmy O'Neill, Erik sets off into the vertical.

SOUNDSCAPE shows how the beauty of nature and life can be understood - with the senses that are available to us.

ANNA - Skateboarding in the mountains (7min)

Tight bends, steep passes and sparks fly when braking: Austrian downhill skateboarder Anna Pixner takes us on a fast-paced trip around and into her world. In speed, Anna feels the calm that she has always lacked among people. In her risky sport, the downhill skateboarder has not only found the antidote to her social anxieties, but also an international community of like-minded people.

KEEP IT BURNING - Climbing the Trango Tower in Pakistan (33min)

"If your father is there, that's the best kick in the arse!"

Perhaps this is the reason why the Catalan climbing pro Edu Marín is taking his 70-year-old father on an expedition to the Karakoram   Together with his brother Alex, the trip to the Trango Towers will be a real family affair. After 13 years, Edu wants to get the "Eternal Flame" route on the Nameless Tower burning again. A route steeped in history: established in 1989 by the sport's luminaries Wolfgang Güllich and Kurt Albert, the brothers Alexander and Thomas Huber managed the first redpoint ascent of Eternal Flame.

However, Keep it Burning shows that the biggest challenge for the family rope team is not climbing, but the capers of Mother Nature.

BACKYARD - 5 descents, 3000m, 29km, 1 day (15min)

Although freeskier Nadine Wallner has already travelled to Peru and Alaska on her skis, this year she is fulfilling a big dream - five freeride descents, 3,000 metres in altitude, 29 km - and all in one day in her home region of the Arlberg.

Nadine has been planning this project for years and has been waiting for the perfect conditions - blue skies and good snow. Together with her mountain guide colleagues Yannick Glatthard and Dino Flatz, she climbs high and descends steeply. But even on a perfect day between Albonakopf (2,654 m) and Westlicher Eisentalerspitze (2,710 m), not everything goes according to plan.
