Last spring, Genswein gave a detailed ÖGSL lecture on the subject of companion rescue under the title "Update on avalanche rescue". Next Monday's workshop is intended as a practice-oriented continuation of this lecture. Monday will focus on first aid and the rescue of avalanche victims.
According to the ÖGSL, the workshop is divided into two parts:
In the first part of the event, Manuel briefly presents the AvaLife system for avalanche rescues as well as the procedure for developing such systems, taking into account the sometimes very complex influencing factors.
In the very application-oriented second part of the workshop, various scenarios will be worked on in different sessions in collaboration with experts from the Austrian Mountain Rescue Service. The aim is to discuss and solve various challenges using and implementing the Austrian Mountain Rescue Service's new Mountain Medicine Book. The focus here is on Basic Life Support (BLS).
More information and the Zoom access link can be found on the website of the ÖGSL.
