After the successful premiere of the film and photo contests at the Kitzbühel Freeride Weeks last year, film and photo teams will once again have the opportunity to win considerable prizes this year. If you want to take part and have the chance to win the title "Line of the Year" with your work, you have to register by December 3, 2014. Last year, creative minds were out and about in the Kitzbühel Alps for the first time as part of this event to collect photos and video material for two photo and video competitions held as part of the Kitzbühel Freeride Weeks. Despite extremely little snow, the results were worth seeing and were rewarded with substantial prize money (5000 € for the winner of the video contest!) and non-cash prizes (a trip to Sweden for an off-road experience). The level of the participants was correspondingly high. In the video contest, for example, the semi-pros from the Mischfabrik freeski crew had to admit defeat with their video "How to become a Pro".
And this year, both contests will also be held under the new "Line of the Year Award" banner. The prizes are the same, with a slightly different format. Both contests relate to a specific theme. The Film Contest, once again endowed with €5,000, is all about responsible freeriding with the theme "Respect the Mountain - Nature and Wildlife Conservation". Film teams consisting of at least two to a maximum of five people who have registered by December 3rd via e-mail to anmeldung@lineoftheyear.com with the subject "Film-Competition" can take part. The entry fee is 10 euros and includes two day tickets from Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel. The winning team will be selected via online voting and by an expert jury headed by head judge Allard Faas. In the Photo Contest with the theme of nature and wildlife conservation, a team consists of at least two people - a rider and a photographer. The aim here is to creatively implement the theme of nature and wildlife conservation in the context of freeriding. The evaluation is carried out in the same way as in the film competition, by online and jury evaluation. Here too, entries must be submitted by December 3rd via e-mail to anmeldung@lineoftheyear.com and the entry fee is also 10 euros.
