First impression
The material of the hooded jacket looks very robust and durable, the design is kept simple but is still lively thanks to the colour accents. As soon as I tried it on for the first time, I was delighted with the longer cut back with hem, which prevents the shirt from riding up. Nothing stands in the way of a warm back on a stormy ski tour!
Tester & Test conditions
I am 173 cm tall and weigh around 59kg, I wear the hoody in size S. It would probably also fit me in size XS, depending on whether you prefer to wear the hoody close-fitting or rather loose and what else you want to wear underneath. I mainly go ski touring, but the hoody also goes with me on my ice and rock climbing tours.
Test
The hoody is intended as a mid-layer for cold to very cold days and I absolutely agree with that. On very cold days, I wear it over a merino shirt on a ski tour on the ascent and as a midlayer when ice climbing. In milder or spring-like temperatures, I prefer to wear the hoody under a hard shell jacket on the descent or as a top layer. Compared to other products of the current lightweight generation, however, the hoody is rather heavy and requires a lot of storage space in the backpack.
