Freeride and powder videos seem to be growing exponentially out of the ground. Until a few years ago, TGR, MSP and Marren Miller Entertainment were the clear market and quality leaders, but the video landscape has been undergoing a massive change for the past two years: cheaper technology, more money and a larger mainstream market have made this possible. New filmmakers, above all Sweetgrass Productions and Sherpas Cinema, are preparing to topple the old ones from their thrones. The best trailers of the season conveniently summarized for you.

The summer was long, but the next winter is gradually coming into view. What could be better than watching ski movies on the couch with chips and beer?

Many are still feeling the after-effects of the near end of the world and the subsequent turn of the year... It's not always easy to work purposefully. New year, new happiness! Will the good intentions of reducing ski movie consumption stick? Looking at these three free movies, you may doubt it. But there's no need to panic, because it's worth watching. With "Shukran Morocco", "Lost and Found" and "Dynamite", there are three films from local productions and different genres that are well worth seeing.

As we all know, there is a lot of nonsense on the internet. But among all the data traffic caused by YouTube, Youporn and the like, there are always small peculiarities. Ephemeral in form and much smaller in number than the general data garbage, they shine in the vastness of the net and also radiate beyond it into the real world. A special treat from the venerable New York Times highlights an avalanche accident in the Washington Cascades in which well-known freeriders were also involved.

Some things seem so simple today and yet were unthinkable just a few years ago. For example, the possibility of cutting together composite images with huge amounts of pixels and making them available to a wide range of interested parties on the Internet free of charge and in a user-friendly way.

Salomon Freeski TV is now in its sixth season. A good dozen high-quality webisodes show modern skiing in all its variety during the ski season. The Videos of the Week summarize the highlights of the season so far.

Freeriding on the Arlberg. Actually a decades-old hat. A small, close-knit group from all over the world has come together in recent years under the name "Gnarlberg Steinbocks". Not everyone, but certainly many freeriders on skis or snowboards will be familiar with the name "Provo". The North American brother and sister duo have repeatedly impressed with their remarkable freeride footage on a total of three boards. Two new videos by the two exceptional filmmakers are a wonderful addition to the collection and are a treat for every freeride adventurer.
