It's finally time again! The ski and snowboard season is just around the corner! In Innsbruck, the new winter will be welcomed with the first Freeride Night on November 1st live at Moustache. The Freeride Nights are a meeting point for Innsbruck's local heroes and a stage for ski and snowboard "home videos". Motivated riders can still submit their videos until 30.10.!

The Alp-Con Cinema Tour is once again traveling through Austria and bringing spectacular films with it! As in previous years, the film program is a successful mix of top international productions and works by local filmmakers. Just in time for the start of the season, the Alp-Con Cinema Tour is back on the big screen with its snow film block and the new MSP film.

Toloka is a Slavic tradition: if an emergency occurs in a community, the whole village helps those affected - the aid organization YOUkraine translates this tradition into the 21st century to help neighbors in need.

As every year, we present a list that is probably incomplete and for which we cannot provide any guarantee! Many ski resorts seem to be starting a little later this year. On the other hand, some glaciers have been open since October 1st despite the unfavorable starting conditions and thanks to fresh snow.

Long awaited and now finally here after a long, hot summer: the first snowflakes at below 2000m, sugared mountains, push messages from the avalanche warning services. Even with a lot of motivation, it's not quite enough for ski tours yet, but we're still happy about the first hint of winter mood.

The 21st PowderGuide season was rather mixed in many respects: the pandemic is still giving us a hard time and more snow would have been nice. But as always, there were also good sides: Lots of sunshine for extended tours, the odd powder day in between, and of course the exchange with the PG community!

BCA is carrying out a voluntary recall of the Tracker 4 avalanche transceiver for certain serial numbers. In Europe, only a small number of devices are likely to be affected. The reason for the recall is a possible problem with the plastic production of the rotary knob for switching the device on and off.

If you're looking for another challenge at the end of the season but can't find enough challenging snow, you'll love this game! The aim is to assign snow profiles to the location. Of course there is also something to win! The whole thing will be solved at the final PG meeting.

PowderGuide is saying goodbye for the summer. This means that, with a few exceptions, we are suspending our editorial work and the weather service is also taking a break until it gets wintry again. Of course, we would be delighted if all those who are still out and about continue to report on their tours in the ConditionsReports!
