Snow condition

4 von 5 Sterne

Good fresh snow (approx. 30 cm in 24 hours) on top of the "fresh snow" (approx. 20 cm) from Sunday/Monday and on an acceptable basis. Makes 4 stars after all. The forests around Niederalpl are snowed in like I haven't seen them for a long time (and that at this early time of year!). Even the severe storm damage from December 2017 is now hardly an obstacle, but rather a welcome landmark and/or jump for a little fun.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Nice and cold and fluffy in the forest. But on the open alpine slopes and sometimes even in exposed forest aisles (below the tree line!) windy with the corresponding riding conditions. Therefore only 3 stars.

Risks

Due to fog, snowfall, storms with snow sweeps and the associated visibility conditions, it is advisable to stay below the tree line anyway. Even here there is already a lot of snow. The floor above is currently a no-go area here (the LWD Styria has already announced a 4 for tomorrow). Steep forest gullies etc. are also becoming increasingly tricky.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

A great, playful day close to the lifts and pistes of the Niederalpl with the usual short runs through snow-covered forests. This makes for a beautiful backdrop and a few meters of "bottomless" deep snow throughout the day. Thanks to the snowfall and wind, there was a "reset" several times a day.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
