Snow condition
Looks nice and wintry (not least because of 2cm of fresh snow), but still very little snow. Maybe 20cm at the top of the pass at around 1200m. Not much ascent at altitude either.
Snow quality
Fresh snow was nice and powdery, but too small to be relevant for the assessment. Underneath was a mixture of stones, soil, plants and old snow.
Risks
We were not above the tree line (fog also constantly impaired visibility). There tended to be too little snow to be relevant. There may be some drift snow in high hollows and gullies that could already be relevant.
Overall impression
Of course, there are already enough ski tourers, but they mostly go up on or next to the pistes and then ski down them. In general, however, there is too little snow to be able to ski off-piste properly. We'll have to wait and hope for next week.
