After the rain/sleet yesterday morning, there was heavy snowfall again in the evening with temperatures just below zero. With just under 10cm of fresh snow, these snowfalls have done a good job of clearing the old snow cover.
Snow quality
Loose but somewhat damp fresh snow on a heavily settled and frozen old snow cover. But it was easier to ski than expected on the ascent. You could only feel the old snow cover on some turns.
Risks
The warming caused the old snow cover to settle. The situation is much more relaxed compared to the previous days. LWD has issued a 2 above the tree line for the region here.
Overall impression
The heavy snowfall yesterday evening gave the region a beautiful winter wonderland. The snow conditions were better than expected when we climbed up. The morning sun justifies the third star.
