As always, good in the snow hole. There's a good 2 meters of snow on the roofs in the valley. Much more next to the road at the top of the pass. A strip of vegetation, which is normally very disruptive on the descent, can only be seen in silhouette this winter.
Snow quality
200m below the ridges (east side) the snow is very good to perfect. Above it is very pressed and loaded. At around 1100m it gets harder because of the temperatures and the moisture.
Risks
Exposed to the east, close to the ridge, in hollows and at transitions from little to a lot of snow, it is a very loaded lot. Rather stay underneath. There were also some snow mouths to be seen in open areas in the forest.
Overall impression
Great morning tour in the Mürztal.
