Tours around Admont
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Still above average snow. However, the spring conditions are already noticeable on purely south-facing slopes below approx. 900-1000m (sometimes it feels like March). From around 1200m, however, the snow depths increase very quickly. Everything above is covered in deep winter snow!
Snow quality
A mixture of ice, slush, melting slush, wind slush, powder, depending on altitude and exposure.
Risks
Quite relaxed. (Apparently fresh) avalanche deposits were visible on extremely steep south-facing slopes.
Overall impression
We were out and about in the Admont area on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was perfect weather-wise (pure sunshine and clear views with no wind). Later on Sunday it was a bit cloudy and windy in the ridge and summit area. Very mild in the middle section above the cold air lake in the morning.
