Snow conditions are already very good here from an altitude of 1000m. At around 1200m there was probably about 15cm of fresh snow. In any case, enough to completely cover our tracks from Tuesday. Even my lost ski pole and glove (fell down on the wrong side of the mountain) had completely disappeared in the fresh snow and could no longer be seen. Nevertheless, the fourth star is saved for the expected snowfall next week. You still have to drive carefully in the wood, but you should probably do that even if there is a lot more snow. The eastern edge of the Alps is growing more and more ...

Wind drifted snow

From good (open, wind-exposed areas) to very good (in shady, wind-protected high forest). Overall better than expected despite the stormy conditions.

Blowing snow, which will become even trickier as the storm gets stronger. Today's fresh snow during the day (only a few centimetres) was - in places less exposed to the wind - very soft, also had sleet-like structures and could form an unpleasant weak layer for the amounts of fresh snow next week? Wind (storm) was very gusty and fluctuated between "Yay ... almost no wind" to "Are you stupid, is it even possible to ski?"

Overall impression

Better

Nice for skiing today. The forest is now really well snow-covered, and even slopes that haven't really been "cleared" are easy to ski (with the necessary caution). The only downer - as so often - is the wind. At the moment, you can only find reasonably loose powder snow in the (dense) high forest.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
