Snow condition
Apart from the blown-off areas, the snow depth is very good. The alpine huts around the Michelbauernhütte were partly blown over up to gutter level. In the shady forest, there was a lot of snow for no reason, inviting you to "play" with snow-covered tree stumps and trunks, etc.
Snow quality
There was still loose, almost dry snow in the forest in shady areas from around 1300m, but the zone was only small. Due to the storm, the snow also had a strong influence on the north-eastern forest gullies in the lee. It was good to ski, but also exhausting and not powder skiing. Above the forest it was "storm snow" anyway. Still good to ski in the lee (no caving in). There was even a hint of firn on the south side.
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: strong
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Occasionally, smaller wet snow slides from rocky areas/steep slopes could be seen. There were also a few blown/snow-covered cracks from slab avalanches. The wind intensity refers to everything except the immediate summit area (there was - as always, the summit is rightly called Windberg - quite unpleasant wind).
Overall impression
A really beautiful day on Neuberg an der Mürz's local alpine mountain, both in terms of the weather and the descent. It's a shame that it warmed up so quickly and so much. In the lower forest area, the actually very skier-friendly forest was already a bit difficult and exhausting to ski due to the warming.
