Firntour Eisenerzer Alps
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Still good, but in the lower elevations it's rapidly getting less and less wherever the sun comes in. If it continues like this, things will soon look different on the sunny side at medium altitudes, too, as well as the familiar picture with the wind: above the tree line, a lot of things are simply completely blown away.
Snow quality
Brilliant firn. Great with the right timing. I left shortly after 11:00 on the southwest side, which was perfect. In the shade it was either hard or grippy windswept snow that usually carries.
Risks
Watch out for daily warming. As it is currently getting warmer from day to day, there are always sliding snow avalanches, some of which reach considerable proportions due to the good snow conditions... I find it absolutely incomprehensible that many tourers were still at the parking lot at 11:30 am...
Overall impression
Another great day, could also be 4 stars, but the powder yesterday was a bit better...
