Very good snow conditions throughout the ski area. The thaw of the last few days was noticeable on the ascent over the pass road. From 1000m upwards there was some fresh snow from Friday to Saturday.

Snow quality

The 5-10cm didn't really improve the quality. Very good skiing in places and the cold, dry temperatures made some turns a pleasure. Then again hard and a crust on top that made my knees scream. Rather mixed quality but with a bit of searching it is quite good.

Risks

Small drift snow lenses in all exposures of rather small thickness. Some of the sliding snow mouths of the last few days were wide open but less of an issue on this day as it was so cold even in the sun that it was very unlikely to get wet. Crests and ridges were very icy and hard. Various cornices looked very delicate and thin. The problem was more the risk of falling through icy paths and broken cornices.

Bluebird on Saturday and a beautiful day with friends. I'm happy but of course it would have been better with more fresh snow :).

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
