Private Ries-Breiteries Schneeberg

Snow condition
Descent through the Breite Ries without contact with rocks, but with a lookout, then shoulder and via the forest road back to the Salamander chairlift valley station. On the south side, larger potholes are already clearly visible. The gullies are well filled with fresh snow. Take care as the day warms up.
Snow quality
Ascent via the north exposure is associated with snow and ice. In the more frequented exposition (NE) the conditions are very good for steeper descents. Well consolidated surface with 5cm of firn.
Risks
LLB 2 this morning. Be careful on the edges of the terrain, danger of falling. The cornices are very thin and brittle.
Overall impression
Wonderful day with Bluebird and a wonderful firn descent.
