Bluebird and powder on the eastern edge of the Alps

Snow condition
Niederalpl (1220m) has around 50cm of snow, with around 20cm (possibly a little more in places) lying on a crust of snow. Not bad for the time of year, but only worth mentioning because we've become so accustomed to the autumn Decembers of previous years. In view of this starting position, we (and we weren't the only ones, but no problem on these wide alpine pastures) opted for the gentle alpine pasture zones around Weissalm, Brachkogel and Ochsenboden.
Snow quality
Definitely four stars. Nice cold powder and that even 2 days after the snowfall. There was a fine decoration of surface frost on top, which was of course very attractive in the sun. Only in a few, typically exposed places were there clear (but weak for the area) signs of wind.
Risks
Irrelevant in the terrain where we were moving today. Styrian LWD gave 1 below 2000m, further up 2.
Overall impression
3 stars, because it has become so rare to be able to enjoy December 2nd on skis at all. Not much is possible in the forest (and nothing enjoyable). Flat to medium-steep alpine meadows are perfect. There you can already enjoy carefree skiing. As an overall package (with sun etc.), three stars for the time of year.
