Snow condition

Approx. 10 to 20 cm. on a stoneless meadow slope. We only uncovered the snow cover right down to the bottom when we were carelessly swinging down. For local conditions within sight of the Danube, actually very good for the time of year.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne

Cold, dry fresh snow that has been consolidated a little by the (light) wind. It actually felt like being in the real mountains.

Risks

Not an issue on the meadow slopes of the Vienna Woods.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

It's rare enough that you can enjoy skiing the "classics" of the Vienna Woods these days (many of these slopes were popular ski meadows in their day and are still described in old ski touring guides from the 1970s). Despite not even that much fresh snow (maximum 20cm), today was such a day. Funnily enough, we weren't even alone, but (in addition to various tobogganing groups) at least 2 other tourers (including Telemark skiers) were out and about.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
