There is about 40cm more snow in the trenches than last week. The pines to the summit are almost completely gone. (There wasn't that much last year)
Snow quality
Starting point was at about 1000m: Lots of snow but very difficult / +4 degrees at 8 in the morning at the parking lot. Getting a bit better towards the top but unfortunately still difficult. Summit around 1800m: quite passable and nice to ride
Risks
Steep gullies and hollows should be avoided. You can feel a clear weak layer 10-15 cm below the surface. We stayed in the flatter forest and had a lot of fun.
Overall impression
Unfortunately 2 days too late.
The heat has already taken its toll on the splendor. Hopefully the Christ Child will bring some cooling.
