Snow condition

The amount of snow in the foothills of the Alps is considerable. From Monday to Tuesday, a further 15-20cm fell on a base of around 35cm. For this reason, ski tours are already possible at low altitudes.

The snow quality was split in two. On the first descent in southern exposure, the influence of the sun was already noticeable. This is mainly an indication for south-facing ski tours on Wednesday. On the north side, on the other hand, the icy temperatures preserved the powder. The strength of the wind influence must also always be taken into account.

Risks

There were hardly any dangers to be seen locally. However, this was mainly due to the low gradient and the height of the tour. However, my experiences over the last few days show that the situation definitely requires caution.

Conclusion: 1. ski tours at low altitudes are also possible at the moment, see panorama photo; 2. it is also interesting to ski where people usually only go to drink coffee or go biking;

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
