The amount of snow is fine. Nevertheless, contact with stones is very likely. There is only enough snow in the forest or in scree cirques. The southern sides of the mountains are already thawing out. But touring is still possible.

Snow quality

Contrary to expectations, the snow quality on the shaded side was quite good. The wind and the high temperatures didn't have an impact everywhere and some of the snow could even be described as powder. Today the snow cover only thawed noticeably below about 1400m.

Risks

Heavy snow drifts and smaller slides were observed in the neighboring mountains. Caution is still advised. At this altitude and exposure, the diurnal increase in danger was not as strong as it was not as warm.

I was surprised that the snow was still good on the north side. A small drop of bitterness were the many ski tourers on our route.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
