It has been snowing a bit since 25.12. - there is about 15cm of snow in the valley and about 30-40cm at the top. However, as everything was still green two days ago, there is virtually no base. Below about 1500m it is really very poor and you only really slide around carefully between the stones that are sticking out everywhere. Above approx. 1500m you can make a few nice turns in places (if you don't have the very latest skis with you). In higher north-facing areas, where there was already a base, it should be quite good.

Rather wet at the bottom, actually nice powder at the top (at least in the wind-protected exposures). However, you don't have too much of it due to the lack of base...

Risks

As we were actually below the tree line throughout and there was still very little snow, the risk of avalanches was low.

A bit of fresh air, a nice view of the snow-covered Alpine foothills and a bit of sliding around on the boards - but that's all it was. Basically, there's still far too little snow at these altitudes. Due to the fact that skiing was still out of the question in the middle of the week and we haven't been spoiled by winter yet, we're giving it two stars. But you can safely leave the brand-new powder slats from under the Christmas tree at home and pack your old rockfall skis instead.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
