Snow report Andermatt / Gotthard, 01/05/2017
Off-piste skiing in "variable" snow conditions, fine weather and icy temperatures.

Snow condition
Bad, amount of fresh snow is difficult to estimate due to the wind influence, maybe 20 cm. Above 2000m there was at least some snow underneath. The second star goes to the fact that, thanks to our foresighted choice of line, we got through the day without coming into contact with any stones.
Snow quality
Mostly strongly influenced by the wind, but with a bit of intuition and searching we also found fluffy powder. However, rarely more than a few turns.
Risks
Some (mostly small) spontaneous snow slabs from the steep terrain, also small snow slab triggered remotely. Larger accumulations of drift snow certainly very tricky, but currently also easy to recognize.
Overall impression
Well, a few turns in good snow, that's all it was.
