Snow condition
Just about average according to SLF. However, wind-affected ridges can only be thinly covered with snow here too. Fresh snow is also good here, especially on the southern slopes.
Snow quality
Above 2500HM, in corners protected from the wind and sun, we still found 1a powder. Otherwise, everything is there, melt crust from the sun's rays that firns up at midday, wind-pressed snow.
Risks
Relatively relaxed, currently moderate according to the SLF. We have not seen any fresh avalanches in the last few days or been able to identify any particular danger spots.
Overall impression
Untracked terrain requires a few meters of ascent. But classics like the Felsental were even more fun today than we would have expected. With skins for a few extra meters of ascent, there were some great descents on the Gemsstock today. There were a lot of freeriders out and about, but very few of them went very far.
