Snow conditions are good in the Gotthard region. You can get down into the valley without hesitation. The amount of fresh snow is difficult to estimate due to wind and rain
Snow quality
The rain crust turned directly into a wind cover. The snow quality on our tour was rather modest. At least in the lower part, the crust had thawed on the descent, so that a few "slushy" turns were possible.
Risks
Definitely pay attention to drift snow, we have seen many loaded slopes and also smaller drift snow lenses. With the high temperatures, however, new snow and drift snow will settle quickly.
Overall impression
I had hoped for a bit more today. We were a bit late in Andermatt and then put off by the crowds, so we went on an alternative tour. With first-chair in the area, you could probably have found even better things than we did on our alternative. At least the weather and the company were good.
