Snow condition

Very satisfactory at the top. HOWEVER, in all expos except directly north, some stones are only slightly covered from about 2300 downwards. On the north side up to approx. 1800 just about rideable, on the south side down to below 2500 basically impossible.

Snow quality

A three for the average between the worst snow in a long time and the best snow of the season. Nasty, wet snow below 2200 m. Hard to ski. A miserable amount of big wet avalanche cones in all directions. From 2400, however, super powder, really fine at the top around 3000. Without much wind and great to ride.

All in all, the whole thing was quite safe despite 3-. The predicted storm did not materialize, drifting snow was easy to spot and not particularly susceptible to interference. An ECT (result ECT 0) at 2800 Expo NE remained without propagation and without triggering a break. There are two weak layers, but they can only really be moved by strong levering. However, the old snow layer described in the LLB lies approx. 1.2m below the snow surface. This consists of huge cup crystals and is certainly a big problem in areas with little snow. However, with the new snow that has been announced, this is more likely to be rectified.

Overall impression

Premium tour in the face of winter. Great weather window on Saturday afternoon on the Maighels and everything was great! Beautiful day.
