Snow condition
On the last descent through the rocky valley, we all agreed: we've never seen the Gemstock with as much snow as yesterday. The rocky valley without rocks - no ledges - nothing - everything was rideable. Then Pflotsch at the bottom. Fresh snow according to SLF around 70cm. Something will still be possible at the top for a long time. Probably not recommended for the next few days at the bottom
Snow quality
Beautiful spring powder - still powdery in the morning, then crème brûlée towards midday. At the bottom, it was a wet mess that you got stuck in when your skiing technique reached its limits. Spring-like 4 stars
Risks
SLF has issued a 4 above 2200m. We didn't see anything in the ski area. The soaked snow cover with all the fresh snow of the last few days is certainly critical, so we stayed away from steeper traverses, and steeper things shouldn't be too long, as the wet fresh snow took more and more material with it towards midday and the rolls rolled into man-high towers.
Overall impression
Super top day with the best crew, who sank powder boards out of sheer lisping, left front jaws lying around, threw themselves over kickers with Mach3 and rummaged through the Gemstock with a stress-free group of 15.
The after-work beers in the bus triangle and the pan-fried sausages at night rounded off the LBD 2019...
