Snow condition
Probably 80cm in the valley 3 weeks ago, now still good snow up to 400m below the Oberalp pass, provided it's not purely south-facing. Good for the time of year and overall situation - no rock skiing necessary. Green in the valley.
Snow quality
From the ridge north side soft snow for 300m, then solidly frozen concrete snow, no varnishing on our northern route.
Risks
A few sliding snow mouths and a few snow planks from the massive snowfall. But relaxed, like spring without daytime warming.
Overall impression
Beautiful touring day with fantastic weather and a varied descent. Makes you want more...
