Spring skiing on the Gemsstock

Snow condition
Top at the top - plop at the bottom. Not enough for variants into the valley yet, all the undergrowth is still sticking out. Thanks to artificial snow you can reach the valley. Down at the parking lot only slush*From Gurschenalp, the snow conditions are suddenly better. A lot is already possible at the top and offers a solid base. ****
Snow quality
The first 500 meters down from Gemsstock were easy to ski. The fresh snow was actually wet up to the top, but it was great fun and brought a smile or two to my face. From 2400m!!! it rained in and the fun was over. Good slush conditions on the slopes - just like in spring...
Risks
Only skied the family freeride runs due to the visibility and snow conditions. Some of the fresh snow broke away relatively quickly, but only on a very small scale. No spontaneous avalanches were observed.
Overall impression
We did a few nice laps with very few people, very good snow at the top and sometimes we even had very good visibility.... and not to forget the snow party down into the valley - when do you get that in December?
