Now we can speak of normal conditions. Correspondingly good at the top. Below, the bushes are not yet all covered. Practically the first snow fell below 1800m.
Snow quality
The snow from the day before yesterday, which had not yet been moved, settled very quickly in the foehn. Tonight the whole thing is getting the finishing touches to a wonderful cover of harsh snow on pretty heavy powder. Where it fell to the bottom, it is somehow unbound in the shadows and feels lazy. You go through to the bottom.
Risks
Still very tense and must always be reassessed locally. Slopes protected from the wind and unaffected by the load could already be skied yesterday. All blown-in slopes have slipped due to minor loads. Many spontaneous boards with partly medium to large edges of approx. 80cm that go through to the bottom above 2000m already noticed yesterday. Small wet snow slides on sunny slopes today.
Overall impression
Finally, the missing scoop of fresh snow to bring things back to normal. It was a short but crisp pleasure. The foehn compressed the new base into a foundation for the rest of the season, hopefully.
