The base in the Bedretto Valley and Andermatt is certainly good. However, the warm weather last week and the Föhn storm have ruined a lot of things. However, descents into the valley are possible everywhere without contact with the enemy. Streams and terrain edges are still quite noticeable.

Four days ago there was another small supply of approx. 15cm. Depending on the expo, it was either significantly more or less. The Guspis and Gotthardreuss valley were pretty empty and pure ice. However, other slopes weren't super loaded but seemed unaffected by the wind. You couldn't really tell where the good snow was to be found, but where it was, it was of the cold, fluffy variety. The day before yesterday, it was completely unbound and fluffy - with the caveat that you kept coming back to the hard layer. There was no such thing as unrestrained pure holding.

Risks

SLF reported 3s today - drifting snow from 2000m- all expos. Everything looked very safe on the ascent. On the descent, however, we came to a zone with drift snow and what also went down immediately on small slopes. On the south side, all the meadow slopes near the valley at around 1300m were sliding. In the valley areas, there was heavy surface frost, which I couldn't see further up.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

3 super days with very good snow. If you keep your eyes and ears open and don't ski the standard variants, the conditions in the area are excellent. But it does need a bit of a boost. Carefree skiing is not the way to go - it's more like sensory skiing.
Good luck.
