Exposition
Snow condition
At the start around 5 cm of fresh snow from New Year's Eve (from 1400 m approx. 15 cm). A forest trail in the lower section is certainly an advantage for west-facing ascents. From approx. 1400 meters, the snow conditions on the north side are solid for the time of year. Steeper slopes on the west and south sides are often blown out or have sliding snow.
Snow quality
From an altitude of around 1400 meters, the SW wind is already at work. In wind-exposed terrain, you will find a wind cover over a large area. Today we opted for a descent to the north, sheltered from the forest. The snow there was still quite usable: settled powder on a hard base (just 3 stars).
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
In the steeper forest there are some sliding snow cracks and slides from the last warm phase, which restrict the choice of route (nobody wants to be there). In windy terrain, the wind begins to blow.
Overall impression
Still quite alright, from now on you'll probably have to wait for supplies.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
