Snow condition
There is very little snow. In the shady valley at 1000 m about 25 cm. Winter sports are out of the question where the sun shines. In the shade you can ski over meadows up to 1000 m (but only there), for the rest of the terrain a forest path is essential. We skied up to approx. 1450 m on the north side in the sparse forest without any damage. The LWD Salzburg writes about the snow conditions: "The snow cover is particularly thin on the sunny side."
Snow quality
Beautiful untracked powder snow without the influence of wind!
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
The LWD writes about the snowpack: "On the shady side, the snowpack has been transformed and is loose". During the ascent and descent, we were able to dig down to the ground a few times with our hands in a fairly relaxed manner. There was no weak layer in the 50 cm to max. 75 cm. It remains "exciting" how this will develop. The sporadic southerly wind was hardly able to move any snow.
Overall impression
Despite the limited snow conditions, we still found good, untracked snow. Snow is urgently needed and the avalanche situation remains exciting.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
