Exposition
Snow condition
Sufficient in the side valleys. Forest and south-facing terrain poor. Enemy contact was not a major issue.
Snow quality
The 5-15 cm of fresh snow from last Wednesday did us good. For the most part, the soft snow was still easy to ski in all exposures
Wind drifted snow
Intensity: medium
Altitude: 1700 m – 2300 m
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
The south föhn has been snowing for the last few days. The only observation was a small snow slab in an east-facing cirque. Otherwise it seems quite safe.
Avalanche activity
Dry slab avalanche
Altitude: 2200 m
Overall impression
The conditions in Grossarltal have been quite good over the last few days, given the not too abundant snow conditions here too. Most tours are (still) possible and in the side valleys it also looks like winter. Finally, there was surprisingly good snow in the Expo Südost today.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
