Snow report Arlberg, 01/14/2014
Ein verhältnismäßig gelungener Skitag für diesen Winter, mit ein paar vorsichtigen Turns die einem Hunger nach mehr machen...

Snow condition
In general, there is still too little snow for this time of year. At higher altitudes (>2300m) the snow has been heavily transported and there are plenty of bare patches, at lower altitudes (
Snow quality
From NW to N to NE, the fresh snow is powdery and easy to ski in all altitudes, the slopes that are strongly exposed to the sun already have a "sting" again in all altitudes and are already slipping with little additional load and medium gradient (see picture)
Risks
The avalanche situation is described very well in the current LLB, surface slides were added during the course of the day, with the fresh snow sliding down on the frozen old snow.
Overall impression
It was a nice day out in the fresh air and, as I said, there were a few turns that made me hope for more. However, despite a cautious riding style, there was also the odd unavoidable rock contact without having chosen any fancy lines.
