Snow report Arlberg, 01/30/2015

YEAAAHAAAWWWWW - resounds through the mountains. Seriously - it was madness today.

The location is now quite acceptable. Many descents are possible. There is actually no more contact. When sliding down through the forest at just under 1000m, the odd patch of grass came through.

ONE OF THOSE DAYS - I think the 50m long blower track in the photo stands for itself. No wind, no hard snow, no cover - just blowers. There were faceshoots on open slopes (if you don't blast down the slopes at Mach 3). I haven't had anything like that yet this season.

Risks

We were surprised. The forecasts from neighboring Tyrol and the weather stations did not bode well. The LLB reinforced this impression. However, we didn't see any real slides or spontaneous releases. The amount of snow quickly starts to slide down steep slopes and then rushes down into the valley next to you. Nevertheless, you should take care, as the fresh snow covers everything old.

The day stays in your head...for a long time! That's 5 stars for me. This snow quality and that at Bluebird.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
