Snow report Arlberg, 02/04/2016
The last few days have been full of hope and trepidation as to what is left after the disaster. But today we were delighted to find out: IT'S ON!

Snow condition
The conditions in the ski area are now good! You can actually choose your own lines. Stones are no longer to be found. The rain crust can still surprise you in blown-out areas. Downhill runs are possible down to the valley.
Snow quality
That was the big question. The warmth also has an influence on the northern slopes. The fresh snow (70cm) is already very settled and you can't really go deep anymore. Spray is also not as easy as expected. Nevertheless, it is still easy to ski.
Risks
This is where it gets tricky. Personally, I'm a cautious person and in the current situation I see danger on every little hill. Nevertheless, within the ski area (Sonnenkopf) there was a lot of subsidence and cracking on the crests today. There are also many cracks and small skier avalanches. I'm keeping a low profile for the weekend.
Overall impression
Before the big carnival rush starts, today was another nice day to relax and ski in the resort. If you believe Uncle Oracle, I'm looking forward to next week!
