Snow report Arlberg, 02/17/2016
At higher altitudes, backcountry fun is pre-programmed, further down it becomes a feat of strength!!!

Snow condition
Due to the lack of fresh snow, the situation is below average for this time of year, just like in the last few days. There is only a good base at higher altitudes.
Snow quality
Really nice fluffy pow at the top, but it gets a bit heavier towards midday. Hardly any hard snow, icy spots are also becoming increasingly rare, but below an altitude of approx. 1500 meters the snow is already quite heavy and from midday you have to rely on your thigh muscles.
Risks
A few self-releases were spotted, but they hardly brought any snow with them. On the whole, however, it is pretty safe, even on fully loaded, very steep slopes we have observed a few "crazy" sports chambermates. These did not trigger anything, but this is definitely not a guarantee or even an encouragement to visit dangerous loaded terrain ... there is always a higher risk!!!
Overall impression
Endless sunshine, very fun snow above 1500 meters and something for the fitness level below. All in all, a very successful freeride day, but one that can be topped by the real WINTER.
