Snow report Arlberg, 02/23/2014
Jetzt ist es Ende Februar und immer noch etwas "dürftig" im Gelände. Es hat seit dem letzten Report doch ein paar Schneefälle gegeben, aber der Wind und Föhn hat sichergestellt, dass es nicht zu viel wird.

Snow condition
In general, there is still not enough snow and you always have to reckon with stone contact. There is no base on ridges and ridges and the stones and subsoil come through. There is 40-60cm of snow on the slopes, most of which has been transformed several times.
Snow quality
From SE to south to SW, the sun is already very strong and it's turning into firn skiing. In the northern expos there is beautiful powdery snow above 1800m and below you can feel the warmth even in these expos.
Risks
The LLB says it all. Later in the day, surface slides can be observed again and again in the steep terrain and more and more gliding snow mouths open.
Overall impression
The conditions are good for careful off-piste skiing and touring. When riding off-piste, it becomes increasingly difficult to find free north-facing slopes, but with a bit of searching and small ascents, a few turns are still possible. All in all, not carefree riding but better than spring walks in the lowlands.
