Lechtal Alps - Ski tour from Boden in the Dremelspitze area
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Some high slopes have very little snow. The wind has done a great job here. Otherwise mostly good.
Snow quality
Versatile. Some of it was covered in wind, the south side was already slightly firny and broken, the north side was still super powder which was great to ski! South-facing you can already pock on firn during the days.
Risks
The snow situation is rather relaxed, but there have been strong winds in the area over the last few days. The signs were clearly visible. South-facing drift snow up to high altitudes is no longer an issue. The sun already has plenty of power. Here you have to reckon much more on daytime heating and slides from steep terrain. That was the main danger for us today.
Overall impression
Nice round trip. Very busy for a weekday. Top on the north side, we were grilled on the south side.
