Ski tour in the Verwall.
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
On the north side it still goes down to about 1,000 m (at 1,000 m there is about 30 cm of closed snow cover). It's still going down well from W-N-E up to 1500 m. On the south side, it is now quickly becoming less. On the shady side there is generally a good snow cover. The snow cover could be more homogeneous in the high mountains. It's best between 1500-2000m.
Snow quality
Above 2000 m - still well-set powder or windsnow on the shaded side. Below this, there are still soft areas up to 1500 m - but the harsch predominates. Then the snow becomes increasingly soaked in all exposures.
Risks
Relaxed general situation. Some wet snow slides from steep, sunny terrain can be seen. Older drift snow packs in extremely steep terrain could still be a problem. As already mentioned, you can see many (older) wind signs, especially above 2200 m.
Overall impression
Nice long tour in the Verwall. If the wind doesn't get too strong then the avalanche situation will remain relaxed, but powder will become scarcer from day to day as the temperatures continue to rise in altitude.
