Snow condition

4 von 5 Sterne

There is still more than enough snow on the shaded side at an altitude of 1200 - 2900 m. It is also noticeable here that exposed areas have been cleared right up to the high mountains. A break on mountain meadows is often possible here. All the gullies are very well filled. Apart from these places, the motto is: free choice in the terrain! Countless lines are possible here in the rear Maroital. All the surrounding peaks have already been climbed several times. The Bludenzer Alpe at approx. 1500 m is still completely covered in snow.

Snow quality

The first descent (south-east) from 2500-2100 was very slightly softened and already fine to ski. The remaining descents were on the shaded side. The summit slope from 2900-2500 still had fine, heavily packed powder. The rest of the descent from 2700-1200m varied in snow conditions. Up to around 2200 m it was powdery with windswept snow, then briefly slushy and at the bottom slushy but not too deep.

Risks

Very stable conditions. No observations of descents made. The south ascent (2500-2700) at about 13:00 was completely ok. Older chutes are visible, but no new ones. Best touring conditions.

Overall impression

A very popular tour in the Verwall for a long time. We started it via Albona. sMany operations today, but we were more interested in the experience in the mountains. That's what this tour is all about. Our variant required us to ascend and descend 3 times. In total, it is also approx. 1300 m of ascent. After many years, everything was perfect for this tour.
