According to the Ulmer Hütte measuring station, it was 40 new, of course fluctuating a little locally, both upwards and downwards. We were in the Pazüel valley and you had to look for a line to make sure you didn't pick anything up. As mentioned in the other CR, there was nothing below here either, and I noticed it frequently on the ascent.

The fresh snow came cold and with little wind, it was almost perfect. There was a relatively stable crust underneath, we were relatively late and despite the influence of the sun, the snow was still excellent. Only where there had really been sun since the morning did it slowly become heavier. It will continue to be fun in the coming days!

Risks

A couple of descents directly from steep rocks, a presumably blasted crack seen. The connection to the base is not the best, but the fresh snow was very loose and not easy to disturb. However, some of the ridges that could be found in gullies or similar were blown off!

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Dreamlike weather (ascent possible in a T-shirt...) and 40cm of powder were only marred by a shark, a strenuous ascent and a late start, so the touring season can start!

If the nice weather arrives next week, there are still a few possibilities, the Stuttgarter Hütte is on track anyway (... a Jägermeister would still be in the winter room, wood supply see hut book entry from 3 weeks ago...)

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
