Snow report Arlberg, 12/12/2014
...continue in the 1 star roundelay...
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
disastrous, virtually no snow available. a few very few slopes on the arlberg have been managed with difficulty...
Snow quality
partly OK on the artificial snow slopes
Risks
there is almost no snow off-piste, apart from a few north-facing gullies over 2200m.
Overall impression
unbelievable (bad). at the moment, considering the effort/use/time (=allgäu/vorarlberg/arlberg/mittel/nordbünden/glarner land/surselva/oberhalbstein), any other activity is far better for me with my home base in the allgäu. skiing can be safely forgotten here for the time being. the next areas that make halfway sense are south of davos or the engadin. if not much happens quickly, it will be a total failure over the holidays. lucky who hasn't booked anything yet... PS: the situation on the arlberg looks a lot worse live than on the photos. unbelievably bad. all the more astonishing that today, with the worst conditions (snow situation) I have ever experienced on the arlberg, there are still enough people with medium widths beyond 115mm...well, bought is bought...
