Snow report Arlberg, 12/19/2015
Quite good piste skiing for the current conditions and relatively good off-piste conditions...not perfect but with a little patience you can make your first turns

Snow condition
There could be more.... It hasn't snowed for quite some time and the old snow is partly hard or already firn. In the northern exposures there is still powder above 1800m. Below 1500-1800m, the snow is poor to green/brown depending on the exposure
Snow quality
All sun-exposed areas are gummed up, some of them are covered in harsh snow and allow beautiful firn skiing. Northern exposures above 1800m are "old", somewhat dull powder.
Risks
The existing snow cover is settled. At higher elevations there are snow drifts and wind packs in the leeward exposures. Slopes with stronger sunlight are white for the most part with small to medium slides and smaller base avalanches have occurred at lower elevations.
Overall impression
When there is snow, it invites you to ride firn and powder with caution Stones are the main reason, these are only sparsely covered with snow and you always have to reckon with stone contact in the terrain. But for the first turns of the season, it goes surprisingly well Christmas wish: a solid dump and no wind
