Tour in the Kalkkögeln

Snow condition
The snow conditions are still in an acceptable range. The gullies in the Axamer Lizum are all skiable and already sufficiently groomed, although you still have to watch out for stone contact in some places.
Snow quality
You can still find good powder snow in the north-facing gullies. However, almost every gully and every centimeter of off-piste terrain has already been ploughed up. Good snow can therefore still be found in untracked terrain that is a little more sheltered from the wind. However, the snow cover there is also somewhat changeable and great powder snow alternates with areas that are more exposed to the wind.
Risks
There were no signs of avalanches. The top part of the snowpack is very loose and consists of very powdery snow and some surface frost has formed. This should be kept in mind when the northern Alps get a load of snow in the middle of next week.
Overall impression
Nice short tour in the Kalkkögeln.
Fantastic surroundings, but already very rutted. The really rewarding downhill sections were therefore unfortunately relatively short. It's about time it snowed properly here in the area too!
