Roughly speaking, mega good, downhill possible as far as Axams (1000m). However, in many places the snow has blown away and in some places the snow conditions are significantly worse than in recent years. On ridges and on some ridges, the grass/stones are even sticking out at the very top.

Snow quality

4 von 5 Sterne

Approx. 40 cm of fresh new snow, which fell under the influence of strong winds. Depending on the exposure, altitude and phase of the moon, everything from the finest powder, set powder, cover, ice crust on grass, dripping wet heavy cardboard snow. In higher, wind-protected locations (and there were quite a few of them), however, it was very, very nice to ski.

Risks

Not entirely without. Today, the Lwd issued a 3 below the tree line and a 4 above. The main danger came from drifting and sliding snow. I can confirm that. At the top you can see clear signs of wind and (blasted) avalanches. At the bottom, there were isolated wet snow slides due to the heavy, damp snow.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

Due to the strongly changing visibility conditions and the changeable snow, I award - as we had everything between 3 and 5 star runs - four stars in the overall rating. Especially the approach to the village was very nice and doesn't deserve 3 stars ;-)
However, due to the many freeriders, the area was over quite quickly and required local knowledge if you wanted to find good snow.
Nonetheless, a more than successful day in the Axamer Lizum.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
