Snow condition
The base is still good. There is now enough snow again in the valley to ski down the old piste. At the top there is a thick layer with very different amounts of fresh snow (due to the wind). In the sheltered forest about 20-30cm. Just above the forest sometimes barely 10cm. In any case, a far cry from the amounts in the northwest, where up to a meter has fallen on the Nordkette, for example. We had tried to get to Kühtai in the morning, but the road was closed. There also seemed to be more snow on the way there than in the Lizum
Snow quality
Quite good. But not really good. I think that's because the snow wasn't quite as cold and the wind was strong almost everywhere. You can get through almost everywhere on the hard surface. Only in a few forest areas is it sometimes very rideable. But everything I've mentioned is just a whine at the very high level of this season.
Risks
According to the LLB, level 4 was issued due to heavy snowfall, strong winds and an unfavorable base. Even if some of the factors (snow) are not as pronounced as perhaps in other regions, everything must be assessed as critical. This is because, for example, the surface harsh layer was also very pronounced here at the weekend.
Overall impression
3 stars at the lower end of the scale. Mainly because of the changing snow conditions and the associated quality of the runs (getting through on the hard surface). But some protected runs are really good.
