Tour im Sellrain

Overall impression
Snow condition
Still increased shark danger up to over 2000 m. Actually even worse than before, because now you can't see the snow-covered rocks, but you can still get on them. From ~ 2300 it gets better.
Snow quality
Super powdery fresh snow. At the start in Haggen about 10-15 cm, further up 20-25 cm. Very good for skiing, if it weren't for the hard base from the previous week in one place or another. This also causes problems on the ascent, as the very loose layer of fresh snow sometimes slips away completely.
Risks
The fresh snow is very poorly or not at all connected to the old snow. To my surprise, however, it fell in Sellrain with relatively little wind, so the drift snow problem was limited for us in my opinion. When it warms up tomorrow, however, the whole thing will have to be reassessed.
Overall impression
Super lonely ski tour up to a few meters below the Schöllekogel with a few rewarding turns. There was very little going on in the whole area and there will still be plenty to do over the next few days.
As a suggestion, I think it would be great to include the Sellrain as a popular and relatively large ski touring area in the CR spots!
